Living on the West coast we don’t get to see the actual dropping of the ball at midnight live, it is typically simulcast and we see it three hours after New York City celebrates, most of the confetti has been swept up and revelers are sleeping off champagne.  But this year,  you can see it live via the Internet.  Here are some sites to view the festivities live and get to bed before midnight.

1) The Ball is a geodesic sphere.

2) The Ball is 12 feet in diameter and weights 11,875 pounds.

3) The Ball is covered in over 2688 Waterford crystal triangles.

4) The Ball is illuminated by 32,256 Philips LEDs!

5) The first Ball was dropped on December 31, 1907.

Who is Hosting/Performing this NYE

Jenny McCarthy will be joining Ryan Seacrest.  Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Demi Lavato, Nick Jonas, Wiz Khalifa and more.  Fergie will be broadcasting from Las Vegas.

CNN will be hosting NYE with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.
