The flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping which means spring is almost here! It also means it’s time to give your apartment a good cleaning! The kitchen is the most work, so here are tips on how to get started.

- Start with a 15 min clean up: This is all about decluttering and giving you room to clean up. Don’t worry about the floors for now. Just focus on washing and putting away the dishes.

- Dust down the ceiling and corners of walls: Decided if the walls need washed completely or just spot cleaned. Spot wash, doorknobs, doors, switch plates. Pay attention to places where people are likely to rest their hands.

- Dust and clean all art and photographs along the wall: Use a microfiber cloth to dust down art and photographs. Wipe down with a lightly damp rag, be careful not to let any liquid seep behind the frame and damage the photo.

- Dust and clean the ceiling fan: Use a gentle cleanser like Murphy’s Oil Soap. The kitchen ceiling fan can be difficult to clean because of the grease and food residue in the kitchen.

- Apply oven cleaner to the oven and clean the refrigerator: Vacuum the coils of your unplugged refrigerator. Sweep and mop underneath it too if you can find some help to move it and be sure not to scratch the floor.
