California Blossoms Are Just Awesome

Spring in Southern California is particularly beautiful.  Our deserts and fields are filled with blooming wildflowers and the scent of citrus trees and berries fill the air.  It is the one time of the year that the ocean and beaches have nothing on the desrts and inland California.
 
The Carlsbad Flower Fields are amazing and in full bloom through early May. Enjoy 50 acres of nothing but giant Rananculus.  The dense flowers look like a box of vibrant crayons. Walk through the flowers, learn about growing tips and stay for dinner or head to the beach. Visit their official website for more information.

It is a two hour drive, but the Poppy Festival in Lancaster is an amazing sight to behold.  Check out their website and make a weekend of it.
 
Drive through Antelope Valley through mid-May to view carpets of orange-hued California poppies. Imagine over 1,745 acres of beautiful flowers.

Travel up 395 to Bishop, CA where you can enjoy both the poppies in the surrounding mountains and lupine in the fields that surround the town. Enjoy the poppies from now until early May and the Lupines in through June.  Bishop has restaurants and shops to enjoy as well.
